How Melb Plumbing Services collects, uses and protects your personal information under Australian privacy law.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Melb Plumbing Services (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What we collect

When you contact us or book work, we may collect:

  • Your name, phone number and email address
  • The property address where work is needed
  • Details about the plumbing work, including photos you choose to send us
  • Your email address, if you subscribe to updates

We do not collect payment card details through this website.

2. Why we collect it

We use your information solely to run our plumbing business: responding to enquiries, preparing quotes, booking and completing jobs, issuing invoices and compliance certificates, keeping records of work performed at a property, and, only if you have opted in, sending occasional service updates. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

3. Who we share it with

Information is shared only with service providers we use to operate the business: for example, our email delivery provider for sending quote confirmations, and our website hosting provider, and only to the extent needed to serve you. Where the law requires it, such as plumbing compliance certificates lodged with the Victorian Building Authority, job details may be provided to the relevant regulator.

4. Website analytics

Our website records basic, privacy-respecting usage analytics: pages visited, referring site and device type. These analytics are collected first-party, do not use cookies or advertising trackers, and are not shared with third parties.

5. Storage and security

Personal information is stored on secured systems hosted by reputable providers. We keep job records for as long as needed to honour warranties and meet our legal record-keeping obligations, then delete or de-identify them.

6. Access, correction and complaints

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing info@melbplumbingservices.com.au. If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

7. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
